Xbox PS4 Comparison: Find Out What Console Is Better - Xbox One S Or PS4 Pro

The console battle continues as we piece make the comparison between Xbox One S and PS4 Pro. The big Black Friday sale is nearing and we are expecting great tech deals. Before you place your orders, let's find out which console is better for you, Xbox One S or PS4 Pro.

According to some reports, many might disagree with this idea of comparing the two consoles but we're still doing it anyway. As we all know, Sony recently released the PS4 Pro, a powerful upgrade from the original PS4, while Microsoft set out to create the Xbox One S three years ago as the company's pinnacle.

For newcomers to the world of PlayStation, buying the new version of the PlayStation4 is an easy decision. However, there is a chance the PS4 Pro's benefits aren't worth the cost.

On the other hand, the Xbox One S is sleeker, more powerful, and budget-wise more affordable than it's predecessor - Xbox One. It also has an Ultra HD Blu-ray player and 4K upscaling.

With all these in mind, let us find out what console suits you best. Because at the end of the day, if you want to buy a new console, these two are the best consoles you should consider.

Let's talk about graphics. The graphical feature of both consoles is slightly different. Xbox One S has a simple upscaling to generate 4K images. PS4 Pro, on the other hand, renders a higher resolution with more intelligent upscaling.

Xbox One S has its 4K output generated upscaling which means that the games are rendered at a maximum resolution, in short 'Full HD', and stretched to fill a 4K screen. PS4 Pro does the same thing with the former, however, PS4 Pro is slightly more clever in faking the 4K display than Xbox One S.

Both consoles use a more advanced upscaling method to fill in its 4K pixels - the "Checkboard Rendering". One thing to note is that PS4 Pro is more capable of displaying images close in quality to the native 4K content.

The ceiling for how a game appears onscreen is higher on the Sony's PS4 Pro BUT at the moment, a majority of the games won't take advantage of this. The drawback is that many PS4 games will not be upgraded to support the Pro, as of the moment.

What is graphics without the game? Graphics will only matter if you've chosen the game you want to play. Both consoles have excellent exclusives and some are even in multi-platform.

What breaks the similarity is Xbox's backward compatibility. Currently, it is far better than the PS4 Pro.

Now let's go to films and media. Both consoles stream 4K content with the need of fast internet connection, of course. The only thing that differentiates them is Xbox's Ultra HD Blu-ray player which the PS4 doesn't have.

After naming all the features and specs of both consoles, one aspect that can defeat all other aspects is the price. Maybe if you're a person who doesn't mind the price as long as it gets the job done but some people looks at the price first.

Xbox One S is definitely cheaper than the PlaySation 4 Pro. You can get the Xbox One S for 349USD while the PlayStation 4 Pro costs 399USD.

We've given our fair share of comparing the two consoles. You can check a much detailed version here.

Now, it's all really up to you. You can either grab one of the consoles now or we can all wait for the big Black Friday sale, details here.
