'Walking Dead' Rating Disappoint Producers; Is This The End?

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 was a blast as it approached the end of October and attracted the second-biggest audience that for the show. Just after a month, it went into its all-time low rating this season. Producers cannot ignore the tremendous drop despite retaining the first spot since the fall-out is substantial.

Numbers don't lie so as evaluated starting from the "Go Getters" last Sunday, 11 million viewers were noted that night. It was the lowest ever number of viewers among the same Sunday night audience. It drops down a bit in the "This Sorrowful Life" with 10.99 million viewers. The total number of viewers has beaten all records in Season 2 and its still building up, according to Cinema Blend.

There is nothing to worry about with the above comparison but the most shocking thing in Season 7 of the "Walking Dead" happened prior to that. It was when "The Walking Dead" Season 6 cliffhanger was answered through "Go Getters." From the 17.03 million viewers, then down to 11 million. That's a 6 million fallout that is hard to ignore.

It could be that the patrons are sick with the wrath of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan character or something else. The rating drop is also fluctuating on a weekly basis. It happens to have around 4.5 million viewers falling out from sequel to sequel especially between the premiere and Season 2 and smaller adjustments for the rest.

It is shocking that after seven years, the show has dropped to second place. The producers for sure are trying to rescue it since 3 more episodes are coming up. "The Walking Dead" continues to air Sundays on AMC, and the network is hopeful that it will regain its momentum again.

"The Walking Dead" will always be remembered to dominate the No. 1 slot on cable TV by a substantial lead, but it is also dropping so fast since last week. The 5.2 current rating in adults age 18-49 is down from 5.4 and less than 11 million viewers stay on for now but not sure if they hold on next week, as per TV by the Numbers.
