Ellen DeGeneres Suffers From Strict White House Protocol; Does Not Get Medal Of Freedom From Barack Obama?

Ellen DeGeneres did not get a special treatment from the White House security when she was refused entry because she cannot present any ID. The A-lister host was honored with the Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama prior to his departure from the top office of the land.

DeGeneres simply forgot her ID and the security officers did not tolerate her despite the popularity . She resorted to Twitter in sharing her ordeal while waiting for the verification process that can give her access without the ID. She finally made it but a bit late into the ceremony.

She also mentioned her joining the mannequin challenge with other invites at the presidential ceremony. Then DeGeneres positioned herself next to the President as tha latter recalled her Hollywood journey. Obama spoke about the same-sex marriage that Degeneres went through from opening her real self up that can potentially ruin her career some 20 years ago to inspiring people just for being herself.

The plight of DeGeneres reminds us all that we are all the same without knowing it. Justice must always be considered in moving forward in our country; said Obama as he praises the star for risking her career so that others can have a shoulder to cry on. She became the hope for most members of the LGBT community.

Degeneres may have paid the price for coming out but she continues to address issues that divide most American in her own humorous ways. She is indeed an inspiration to be a better person regardless of gender - one joke and one dance at a time. Immediately after receiving the award, DeGeneres cracked a joke again over Twitter as she always does.

Other recipients of the award include; Bruce Springsteen, the rock legend, Frank Gehry, architect, Vin Scully, baseball broadcaster, actors Tom Hanks, Robert Redford, Robert De Niro and, Lorne Michaels, Saturday Night Live creator and producer, according to E News.
