'Winds of Winter' Release Date: George RR Martin Teases Book Completion, 'Winter Is Coming' Says The Author To NYC Crowd [Report]

There is no other book that makes a buzz as loud as "Winds of Winter." The last installment of the epic fantasy novel, "A Song of Ice and Fire" titled "A Dance with Dragons," has been released four years ago, and many believe that the next novel is long overdue. Fans have been waiting for years to get a hold of the anticipated book, and it seems that such time is drawing near.

Last week, in a past report from Parent Herald, the celebrity author, who is the brain behind the popular series novel, hinted that the book could be finished. In his live journal, Not a Blog, George RR Martin wrote that he will be attending a wedding and will be watching a baseball game. He ended his post with a cryptic message, "And while I will be travelling, my army on minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines."

Many believed that the witty 66-year-old author referenced "minions" as the people who work in publishing, while the "paper mines" are the printers. Fans were ecstatic and hopeful that the highly anticipated book, "Winds of Winter," is already in the publishing house.

It seems that the speculations could be true because Martin has never stopped giving his fans hope, that, indeed, it was the case. Martin, a major sports fan, attended the ballgame between Staten Island Direwolves and Hudson Valley Renegades. When he was invited to take the field for a speech, he grabbed the mic and in front of the crowd to "warn the boys of summer that winter could still be coming," according to Rolling Stone.

However, there is more to that, the report suggests that when Martin was about to leave the field after his big appearance, he stressed, "And remember, winter is coming."

The famous author is probably as excited as his fans to finish the book. Earlier reports suggest that he was pressured to finish the next book, "Winds of Winter". On his interview with D'Brickashaw Ferguson published via the New York Jets, Martin said, "I can write one script per season if I choose to, and I did for the first four seasons, I scripted one episode every season. So the last two seasons I have not done that, simply because I am too busy with the book."

"There are a lot of people working on the TV show, a lot of very talented people. But I am the only one that can do the books," he added.

According to International Business Times, the series' next installment is long-awaited because the TV show has already used up the materials from his first five novels.
