3DR Solo LATEST Review: The Only Drone In The Market With Two Linux Computers But Still Has Downside? [DETAILS HERE]

The 3DR Solo is definitely keeping up with the race for the best drone available in the market. Though released earlier than its contemporaries, the 3DR Solo is still considered one of the best in the market. It is reported to have a good number of features, but can it measure up to the big competitions?

According to Digital Trends, the 3DR Solo is the only drone in the market that has two dedicated 1GHz Cortex-A9 Linux computers. There is one in the controller and one onboard the drone which takes care of high-level flight scripting. This type of configuration makes the drone extremely reliable.

The 3DR Solo doesn't have its own camera. This may be considered a downside for most users. This drone needs to have GoPro and is only compatible with Hero 3, Hero 3+ and Hero 4. If a user doesn't have any of the mentioned GoPro devices, then they will have to buy it which may set them back about $500.

The 3DR Solo did not only partner with GoPro, the company worked with GoPro to come up with custom drone integration. Once the camera is plugged, the user is able to control all of the drone's settings during the flight from the 3DR Solo controller.

The 3DR Solo can also fly and it can fly fast. It can reach a little over 55mph. this is considered 10mph faster than DJI Phantom 4 and can even go faster if backed up by good tailwind. This drone is perfect for fast-moving shooting such with cars, motorcycles, mountain bikes etc.

As added by Unmanned Tech Shop, some of 3DR Solo's key features include industry leading safety features such as a pause button, fly away protection and dual flight computers that record over 500 parameters 20 times a second. The live HD display enables the user to see what the GoPro is currently capturing.

GoPro settings can even be changed from the ground via the app to get the perfect shot. It is also backed by 3DR Solo warranty. If it fails during flight or basically gets destroyed, simply send the device for further investigation.
