Xbox One News & Updates: Xbox Game Streaming Goes to Oculus Rift on Dec. 12; 'Gears of War 4,’ 'Forza Horizon 3,’ Available for Oculus Streaming?

Gamers with an Xbox One and Oculus Rift will have an opportunity to upgrade their game streaming experience this December when streaming of Xbox One games become available for streaming through the VR goggles. Games include "Gears of War 4" and "Forza Horizon 3."

According to Techcrunch, game streaming of Xbox One games through the Oculus Rift headset will start on December 12. Gamers will need an Xbox One, an Oculus Rift, and a PC that runs Windows 10 to enjoy the immersive gaming experience.

According to Xbox.com, in order to stream the game to the Oculus Rift headset, the Xbox One will need to connect through the user's home network through an app. Once the Xbox One is connected, the video output on the Xbox will stream straight to the Oculus Rift headset.

Gamers who will stream Xbox One games through the Oculus Rift headset will have the option of setting how immersed in the VR environment they want to be through three different modes: the "citadel," "retreat," and "dome."

Xbox recently teamed up with the the people working on the Oculus Rift headset and has offered an Xbox One controller and Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows along in every bundle of the Oculus Rift headset. The Xbox One controller works interchangeably for Windows 10 PCs and the Xbox One. Lastly, newer PCs with built-in Xbox wireless support can play games on the Oculus Rift headset using the controller without the use of the adaptor.

Come December 12, owners of the Oculus Rift headset will be able to stream favorite Xbox One games like "Gears of War 4" and "Forza Horizon 3." Oculus users will need to download the "Xbox One streaming to Oculus Rift" app in order to set up the stream. The application will be available for free through the Oculus Store.

The Xbox One won't be the first console to use VR goggles for a highly immersive gaming experience. PS4 owners already enjoy the immersive VR gaming experience by using the PlayStation VR on their console without the need of an adaptor or a PC.
