Microsoft Now Offering Solitaire Collection For iOS, Android; "Premium Edition" Gets Rid Of Ads At $1.99 Per Month [DETAILS HERE]

If you're one of the lucky ones who owned a PC back in the 90s, then you have probably played Solitaire. Microsoft bundled every Windows-based PC with the basic card game and essentially, it's made for one player to pass the time, or waiting for something else to do on the computer.

Playing solitaire in an era where Virtual Reality, FPS and online gaming reign supreme might sound outdated, but there's a whiff of nostalgia that comes with the game. Today, Microsoft is bringing the popular card game back, but this time, in a more mobile platform.

As reported by The Verge, Microsoft is offering a modern twist to the classic Solitaire. Dubbed as the Solitaire Collection, the game is, for the first time, available "outside of Windows." Solitaire Collection is now up for grabs on the App Store for iOS users and Google Play for Android users. The website added that the company's decision to release a mobile-friendly version of Solitaire is to add to the "119 million who have played the game" over on Windows 8 and 10.

The updated Solitaire Collection for iOS and Android will offer a variety of game modes such as the classic Spider, FreeCell, Klondike, Pyramid and Tripeaks. Microsoft also included "daily challenges", as well as achievements and cloud saves via Xbox Live, said Android Police. Players can also use the console to sign in and play with their friends.

However, Solitaire Collection comes with a catch. The free version comes with a bevy of "banners and full-screen advertisements" that could off your game. Players who want to get rid of these nuisances can opt for a "Premium Edition" of the Solitaire Collection at $1.99 per month. Not everybody will pay, but there's no point in arguing to those who will.
