Christmas TV Specials To Watch Out For on ABC, BBC And Nickelodeon

We are just a few days away from the Holiday season, and TV networks are gearing up for Christmas with shows that will sure touch the whole family. Check out the list and schedules below.

According to ABC News, the network has prepared holiday-themed shows which will include all-time favorite classics such as "Charlie Brown," "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," "How The Grinch Stole Christmas," and "Mary Poppins." These will during ABC's 25 Days of Christmas starting this Thursday, Dec. 1.

Winter shows rookie entries are expected to air, including the 2007 fantasy/comedy movie "Fred Claus," on Dec. 3, 4, 7 and 8. Tom Hanks' "The Polar Express" and Pixar's "Toy Story" are also slated to air on Dec. 5, 6, 8, and 9.

Jim Henson Christmas specials are not to be missed by the young and young at heart. "The Bells of Fraggle Rock" and "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas." will both air on Dec. 12.

Other popular movies include "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause" will air on Dec. 14 and will continue to appear on dates 15, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23 and 25. Other shows and schedules are listed on the network's website.

Meanwhile, other networks have also prepared winter-themed specials. BBC's science-fiction TV series "Doctor Who" will have a Christmas episode entitled "The Return of Doctor Mysterio." Doctor Who (Peter Capaldi) is joined by other journalists to help save New York from an alien threat, BBC One reports.

Business Wire also reported Nickelodeon's animated TV movie "Albert" will debut this Dec. 7 to compete in the cartoon Christmas programs. The tale tells about a brave little fir tree that dreams of becoming the next famous Christmas tree.
