‘The Steam Awards’ Now Accepting Nominations For Video Games, Made Your Choice Yet?

Steam is currently accepting nominations for the annual Steam Awards happening this December. This is going to be the very first Steam Awards and the Steam Community will choose the nominees.

The Steam Awards is composed of eight categories, there's the "test of time" award, which basically describes a game that never fades or a classic. Then there's "the I'm not crying, there's something in my eye" award that recognizes tearjerker games. Another category is the "just 5 more minutes award," which recognizes the games that turned your days into nights or vice versa, the fourth category is the "whoo aaa AAAA, dude!" award for video games which initiated that "mind blown" moment. The fifth is "the villain most in need of a hug" award for those misunderstood villains.

Next is the the "game within a game" award, which is for mini-games. Another category is the "I thought this game was cool before it won an award" award, which will recognize those games that were never advertised but were awesome in their own way. There is also the "best use of a farm animal" award, which kind of self-explanatory. And the final category is the "we didn't think of everything" award, which is going to be handled by the steam awards selection committee for category and award, according to Steam.

When Valve introduced Steam 13 years ago in 2003, it faced numerous problems in terms of support from big companies but was declined. Steam's biggest defeat was during the release of "Half-Life 2," because "Valve's servers simply weren't ready for the flood of users trying to play the game at launch, and for days, people around the world struggled to even start the game." But despite these challenges Steam survived and is known today as a retail and multiplayer gaming juggernaut, according to Kotaku.
