‘Pokémon GO’ Guide: Chansey Now A Top Gym Contender! Which Of The Strongest Monsters Can It Defeat?

Chansey wasn't really considered as one of the strongest monsters in "Pokémon GO" in the past, but a big change to the game's CP calculator made Chansey a powerful Gym contender and boosted its power. Here's how it happened.

According to Otakukart, Chansey now has a stamina level of 500, attack of 60, and defense of 176, with a maximum CP of 1469. When calculated in percentage, Chansey now has a +157.08 percent CP compared to the Normal-type Pokémon's past version.

Granted, Chansey isn't considered as a powerful defender in "Pokémon GO." The Pokémon doesn't hit its enemies hard but its defense and HP or stamina make Chansey a force to be reckoned with in Gym battles.

"Pokémon GO" trainers can find it hard to defeat Chansey in the allotted timeframe (60 seconds) and as a result, lose to the Pokémon. "Pokémon GO" players have shared their experiences with Chansey over on Reddit and proved that the monster is really hard to beat in the allotted timeframe.

Redditors claimed that the game's strongest monsters such as Dragonite and Vaporeon timed out while fighting Chansey. One Redditor even shared that his 1216 CP Chansey managed to defeat a 2100 CP Vaporeon, while a 3200 CP Dragonite nearly timed out while fighting a 1200 CP Chansey. Another "Pokémon GO" player on Reddit said that "putting Chansey at the lower level of a gym is going to be an amazing wall."

Chansey's new prowess in "Pokémon GO" Gym battles made players wonder about how the Pokémon would fare when it evolves into Blissey. After all, if a mere Chansey managed to take down Dragonite and Vaporeon, what more can Blissey do to other powerful monsters?

Blissey doesn't exist in "Pokémon GO" -- at least not yet. However, there are strong speculations that Blissey would be released in Niantic's huge Generation 2 update of the game, where 100 new Pokémon would be introduced.

Business Insider advised Pokémon GO" players to try to obtain more Chanseys -- no matter how rare it can be -- and evolve it into Blissey when it arrives in Gen 2. Chansey would likely require 50 to 100 Candies to evolve into Blissey.

What do you think of the amped up Chansey? Have you used the Pokémon in Gym battles already? How was your experience? Share your thoughts below and be sure to follow Parent Herald for the latest "Pokémon GO" updates, guide, and tips!
