Excessive dieting can prove fatal for people as it increases the risk of cardiac related problems and eventually results in heart attack. The dream to have that perfect figure forces older women to adopt the aggressive and crash dieting methods.

This lifestyle is not healthy, and the weight loss journey evidently becomes a journey towards several cardiac diseases, and it may end up in a heart attack.

Women would usually go for yo yo dieting. This is a method of vigorously gaining or losing ten pounds. This method is associated with the risks of developing cardiac diseases. According to a recent survey cardiac-related deaths, occurred as a consequence of yo yo dieting, have risen to almost sixty-six percent which is a greater figure in comparison to the number of women successful in maintaining their figure through this dangerous method of dieting.

Mostly women who die due to the fear of having extra weight in their bodies were found to have normal body weight index, and this whole idea of not having a perfect figure was just psychological. In this experiment, the women having normal body index and not engaged in yo yo dieting were also evaluated. This control group of the experiment was found to have no drastic increase in heart rates depicting a normal metabolism of the body.

So before someone gets involved in such a weight loss cycle or program, he/she should first consult some professional, either a physician or nutritionist because sudden lifestyle changed can be risky.There is no pill, medication, or diet that can magically make the body shrink overnight or in just a few days. So it is recommended that one should stay away from fancy advertisements that promote sudden weight loss. If a person is obese and thinks to lose weight, then professional guide is the first step required to be taken.
