Extending Your Child's Focus

Getting a kid's attention is one of the most challenging yet most fulfilling tasks that any parents could achieve. It tests one's patience to attain this achievement. But how can parents accomplish this? Here some of the ways from Parents view:

1. Provide Attention to Win Attention:

- Children, today, fight, especially when tasked to do something especially if they refuse to do it. "The first time you introduce an activity that is more important to you than to your child, you are testing your creativity and flexibility as a parent and teacher," says Dr. Neal Rojas. It is where the conflict lies for every parent since kids entering an educational institution, have to work more arranged, and unvaried works so creatively substitute these unvaried works. Never yell at them, if they don't want to do their school works and give them proper attention instead.

2. Dwindle Disturbances:

- As their parents, you have to pay attention to things that divert their attention. Ask them if they need something before doing assignments or any school activity. If you let them eat, be confident that the food they will eat is nutritious.  High Fiber Whole grained pretzels or tortillas, whole grain cereals, raw veggies with fat- free ranch dressing, or hummus, graham cracker sticks, fresh fruit plunged in low-calorie yogurt, and peanut butter spread, in apple or banana. You may allow them to have a short rest. If they have siblings and deny to stop from disturbing one another, have them work in a different room. "You have to keep directing them, but you also have to let kids figure things out on their own," Hiatt, a mother of four, states.

3. Limit Television Viewing:

- Another efficient way to prolong your child's attention span is to restrict them from watching television too much. A Pediatrics study says that watching speedy animated shows reduces kids' observation spans. Better have them do activities attention span enhancement like having a talk with them, eating, or household errands or playing educational games with them.

These are ways of enhancing the attention span of you kids. However, you may need help because there are cases that simple methods can't solve. Seek aid from teachers, physician or a psychiatrist.
