Love and Theft's Eric Gunderson Welcomes Baby Boy

Eric Gunderson is a new dad.

The "Love and Theft" musician and his wife Emily welcomed their first child, a baby boy Sunday, March 10, Us Weekly reported.

According to the reports, the baby boy, named Camden William Gunderson, was due in May and came two months early.

"Eric and his wife Emily are thrilled to announced the birth of their handsome new addition, Camden William Gunderson," Us Weekly quoted the musician's rep saying in a statement. "He arrived earlier than his expected May due date and will be spending some time in the hospital, but mother, father, and baby are all doing well."

Fans and well-wishers of the musician expressed their support and love to the new parents:  "They are in for such an emotional roller coaster ride. I wish them all strength and peace over the next few months. My daughter was born at 30-wks. She's now a healthy, smart and happy 4 yr," a comment appearing in People magazine read, while another one added, "Congratulations Eric and Emily. Thoughts are with them for Baby Camden."

Gunderson and Emily Hagar tied the knot in April 2010. The couple announced the pregnancy news in November 2012. In December, they confirmed expecting a baby boy.

Gunderson, who wanted to have a son, was overjoyed with the news.

"I'm so excited to have a boy," the proud father-to be told People magazine. "Emily would be happy either way, but I've been secretly planning father/son hunting and fishing trips all along."

"I might even let him try his hand at guitar, although, you know those musicians are a handful," he added to the magazine.

More baby news can be expected from the couple in the future, as Gunderson expressed his wish to have a second child, preferably a daughter.

"I was the oldest in my family and I was a boy...I think it was cool for my sister to always have an older brother. I think I'd like to have a boy first and then a little girl, but I'll take whatever I get!" he told Taste of Country after announcing pregnancy in November.
