Real Madrid still hit the headlines as regards transfer news and rumors, as this time Chelsea midfielder Mesut Özil and former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria want to be back in Bernabeu, according to a published Spanish article. Although it came as a shock as the players left Spain, reports have it they are unhappy with their current employers.

Marca, a Spanish publication, headlined last Wednesday, November 30, "Di Maria and Ozil want to come back, and have offered themselves to Real Madrid." However, according to ESPN FC, rumors regarding Chelsea midfielder Mesut Özil and former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria returning to Real Madrid may have come from nowhere.

The Marca article about Real Madrid transfer rumors involving Chelsea midfielder Mesut Özil and former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria was written by Jose Felix Diaz, a long-time Bernabeu press room regular who is close to Club President Florentino Perez. Perhaps, the Real Madrid board are happy to have it printed since it came from one of their closest confidants. The article furthered: "They do not find in their current clubs what they had at Real Madrid."

Chelsea midfielder Mesut Özil and former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria spent 3 years together at Real Madrid, before leaving "under something of a cloud." Mesut Özil, London club's most influential player, left Spain in 2013 and signed of a £42.4 million contract with Arsenal, according to a previous post from The Guardian. This cemented the German midfielder's status as the third most expensive signing in British football history.

Meanwhile, Mesut Özil's former teammate Angel Di Maria left Spain and joined for only one season Manchester United for £59.7 million. This was probably one of the worst decisions the forward had to endure. Having been also one of the most expensive players in football history, the Argentinian forward Angel Di Maria left Manchester United after a failed stint and later on admitted that a spiky relationship with Louis van Gaal was the main reason for him leaving. Currently, Angel Di Maria plays for Paris Saint-Germain, after a €63 million transfer deal.

Although their come back to Bernabeu hasn't been officially confirmed by either their employers or Real Madrid, the reasons behind the so-called transfer have also surfaced.
