‘Hawaii Five-O’ Actor Keo Woolford Dies At 49: Goodbye Detective James Chang

"Hawaii Five-0" Actor Keo Wolford died last Nov. 29 at the age of 49. Woolford's family, friends and co-stars expressed their deepest agony in the death of the beloved actor and recalled how great of a man he is.

The 49-year-old Woolford is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii. Keo Woolford was an American actor, producer and director. He was born and raised in Hawaii.

He directed the award-winning feature film "The Haumāna" and the East West Players stage play, "Three Year Swim Club." Actor Keo Woolford, best known for playing Detective James Chang on "Hawaii Five-0," passed away on Monday at the age of 49 after suffering a stroke three days before his death.

His publicist Tracy Larrua told the Hollywood ReporterWoolford had a strong connection with Hawaii beyond his recurring role on the CBS show "Hawaii Five-O."

Keo Woolford was actually planning a sequel to the award-winning feature film "The Haumana," which centered on the host of a luau show. Larrua said Woolford had already written a script but this unfortunate turnout in Woolford's life might render it vague for the future of the film sequel.

According to CBS News, Woolford also had small roles in several movies, including "Godzilla," and was part of a Hawaiian boy band called Brownskin. Woolford also starred in movies "Act Of Valor" in 2012 and "The People I've Slept With" in 2010.

His "Hawaii Five-0" co-star Daniel Dae Kim wrote on Twitter, "As talented as you were, I will remember you most for your kindness. Thank you for sharing your light with us. Rest In Peace."

Actress Kelly Hu also mourned the loss and said, "Heart breaking for the loss of dear friend Keo Woolford, writer, director, singer, dancer, spreader of love."

Although the life of Keo Woolford is taken away in his very young age, his family, friend and loved ones would always remember how he touched their lives forever. The world says goodbye to Detective James Chang, may you rest in peace.
