'Deadpool 2' Release Date, Cast & Plot Updates: Cable Links 'Logan' To Sequel; Two New Characters Hinted To Join Deadpool

"Deadpool 2" is coming! Despite a few roadblocks and setbacks, the highly anticipated sequel starring Ryan Reynolds is underway.

Previous reports claimed that there was a delay in the sequel's production after original director Tim Miller decided to drop the project. According to a "Deadpool 2" update from The Wrap, the director and Reynolds couldn't meet halfway with their visions for the sequel. Reynolds wanted to stick with the "scrappy" feel of the original, while Miller wanted to do an overhaul that would reportedly cost them three times the cost of the $58M first installment.

Because of their creative differences, Miller was soon replaced by David Leitch as "Deadpool 2" director. No official report has been released about the release date of the second installment, but rumors are rife that it could premiere on November 2, 2018 or February 14, 2019.

"Deadpool 2" rumors also suggest that filming will begin early next year. And while it's still early to determine what the sequel's plot will be, speculations have already surfaced claiming that Cable and Domino will be part of the upcoming film.

In a Movie Pilot report, it has been suggested that Cable could actually be key in connecting "Deadpool" to the rest of the X-Men franchise. As the outlet noted, the upcoming and final installment of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine stand-alone flicks, "Logan," could make the much needed introduction to Deadpool's best friend.
