'Captain America 3: Civil War' Reportedly 'More of a Family Dispute' Says Anthony Mackie

The upcoming Marvel superhero flick, "Captain America 3: Civil War," has been gaining popularity as its release date draws nearer. Fans and followers of the Marvel franchise have been eagerly awaiting for any update that might reveal potential plots and additional information on the cast members. With that in mind, interviews from the stars of "Captain America 3: Civil War" are closely followed by excited viewers.

Coming off the storyline set forth by the second "Avengers" film, "Avengers: Age of Ultron," fans of the Marvel characters are now aware that a divide among the superheroes is imminent. With "Captain America 3: Civil War" as the next flick in line for the Marvel series, it became apparent that the rift will be the center point of the Chris Evans film. Apart from the man behind the Steve Rogers characters, "Captain America 3: Civil War" will also feature other characters from the "Avengers" such as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr). Meanwhile, some characters of from the earlier Captain America films are back with the same actors reprising their roles. Anthony Mackie will be back to reprise his role as Falcon, while Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, better known as Bucky Barnes, will also be part of "Captain America 3: Civil War" and will be played once again by Sebastian Stan.

In an interview with Collider, Mackie described the fights in "Captain America 3: Civil War" among the superheroes as something more akin to "sibling rivalry" than those done by actual warriors against each other. He said, "Nah, it's not MMA. We definitely have gloves on. It's more a family dispute, and that's what so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It's more so when you have a sibling rivalry."

Mackie went on to share, "The reason why people can relate to these characters so much, is because they can relate to what they're going through. Everybody's fought with one of their siblings or one of their friends and wanted to make up with them but couldn't figure out how to do it."

The sentiments of Mackie were further reflected by Evans himself, who plays the lead role in "Captain America 3: Civil War" and will go head to head against Downey's Iron Man. The actor explained, "Well said. I feel like families - you have more struggles with the people you love (because) you care about them." He went on to say, "You can't leave them, you have to make this work. If it's someone you can cut out of your life, no problem. You may not get along, but you can't just cut them out of your life."
