‘The Last Of Us: Part 2’ News & Updates: Ellie Is Back and All Grown Up; Not A Sequel According to Naughty Dog?

At the PSX 2016 event, game developer Naughty Dog announced the sequel to one of the finest games online "The Last of Us." The trailer showcased the already grown up Ellie alongside her father Joel.

Since the initial release of "The Last of Us" 3 years ago, fans have speculated that a sequel was boiling beneath the creative heads of game developer Naughty Dog. However, according to EuroGamer, the game developer of "The Last of Us: Part 2" Naughty Dog previously announced that they were unsure of a sequel, despite the game winning 10 wins at the annual DICE awards show in Las Vegas back in 2014.

Also, only a limited few knew that the hit post-apocalyptic zombie game "The Last of Us: Part 2" was actually in the making. Talk about complete low-profile.

Engadget reported that there has yet been no official confirmation regarding "The Last of Us: Part 2"expected release date or any more details for the new game. For now, let's simply take it all in as the teaser trailer debuts the already grown up Ellie filled with the desire for vengeance.

Naughty Dog's "The Last of Us: Part 2" trailer opens with a grown up Ellie strumming a guitar while singing. The words in her "self-composed" song simply are filled with utter desire for vengeance. Joel then enters, gun in hand. Ellie tells Joel, "I'm gonna find, and I'm gonna kill, every last one of them."

Well, Neil Druckmann, "The Last of Us: Part 2" creative director, said that Ellie will be taking over as the game's lead protagonist, in a report by MXDWN. "The Last of Us: Part 2" will be a few years ahead of the previous game installment, since Ellie is now 19 years old with a half-sleeve tattoo on her right arm.

Druckmann pointed out that "The Last of Us: Part 2" should not be considered a sequel. Instead, it is a continuation of the first installment "The Last of Us: Part 2." This is because according to him the "idea of a sequel diminishes the overall experience of the series and its story as a whole." Although he didn't reveal how Ellie would play out as a protagonist, whether she will be like her Father, Joel, Neil did not spill out any further information.

Since the game is still a long way off, stay tuned for more "The Last of Us: Part 2" news and updates as Naughty Dogs promised to release more details, soon. What do you think of Ellie's tattoos, by the way?
