Microsoft Seals Deal With LinkedIn With a $26.2 Billion Acquisition; CEO Nadella Revealed Tech Giant’s Plans

Intel and AMD are not the only companies who have merged. Microsoft recently sealed a deal with its purchase of LinkedIn. The amount of the acquisition was reportedly around $26.2 billion. Now, what would be next for the tech giant after acquiring the social networking service of business and employment?

CNET reported that last Thursday, both Microsoft and LinkedIn confirmed their acquisition deal. Six months ago, Microsoft hit headlines as the tech giant was reportedly planning to spend a massive $26.2 billion in order to acquire LinkedIn. This is their biggest acquisition to date.

According to VentureBeat, for Microsoft's acquisition of LinkedIn to push through, it needed the approval of various regulators around the world, including those from the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Brazil. The European Union earlier this week gave their go signal.

This really the biggest deal Microsoft has struck after acquiring Skype back in 2011 with only $8.5 billion. Having LinkedIn at their disposal now, they are on their way to another level of plans. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that Microsoft is now at "a specific set of integration scenarios."

Business Insider noted that Microsoft would likely integrate LinkedIn's Sales Navigator into Microsoft's Dynamics. In fact, this was the reason behind the acquisition deal. However, there are other notable surprises under Microsoft's online businesses. CEO Nadella has also listed some of Microsoft's plans which include, but are not limited to, LinkedIn identity and network in Microsoft Outlook and the Office suite, LinkedIn notifications within the Windows action center, extending the reach of Sponsored Content across Microsoft properties, and more, per The Verge.

Currently, it will be difficult to figure out whether these integrations will be welcomed by end-users. Perhaps, we will find out once Microsoft officially launches the changes.
