“Little Shop Of Horrors” Will Have A Remake, Warner Bros. Confirms, Yet Hollywood Not Enthusiastic With The Idea

"Little Shop of Horrors," a 1986 flick starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, and Steve Martin joins the ranks of movies that will soon have a reboot version. As coming up with remakes seems to be the trend nowadays, Warner Bros. jumped on the bandwagon and announced that "Little Shop of Horrors" will hit the cinemas again. While the cast is yet to be announced, Greg Berlanti is already confirmed to direct the film and to do the script is Matthew Robinson.

A Deadline article narrates the storyline of this horror musical which revolves around a florist named Seymour (Rick Moranis) who has a liking for strange plants. He will soon discover that the giant plant he owns and call Audrey II is a cannibal monster that needs human flesh to survive.

The monster plant, Audrey II has the ability to attract fame and success for Seymour but for an exchange of more human flesh. The 1986 movie, "Little Shop of Horrors" is based on a 1960 musical play created by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

It was reported that the ending of the 1986 film had to be rewritten after a premiere screening draws a negative reaction from the crowd. The creators then decided to change the original sad ending to a happy one.

While most film and TV remakes are mostly welcomed with excitement, the news of "Little Shop of Horrors" reboot seems to evoke a different reaction. A post from Dlisted suggests that Hollywood is not that enthusiastic with the idea. The article even suggests hilarious possible scenarios for the remake which include Audrey II becoming a vegan and casting Kim Kardashian for the role.

Are you excited with the news that "Little Shop of Horrors" will soon be back in the theaters? Who do you think will fit the role of Seymour in the remake?
