Tinder Now an Apple TV App; Works With Apple TV Remote?

Tindering with friends got bigger and easier after the dating-app released its newest app. This time, it's on a wide Apple TV screen.

According to Techcrunch, the Tinder App on the Apple TV was designed for match-making with the help of friends and family, a practice that many Tinder users do. And in order to confirm a match, Tinder users will need to swipe on the Apple TV remote's touch pad.

Swiping left and right isn't the only thing Tinder can do on the Apple TV, according to engadget. Tinder-users subscribed on Tinder Plus can shake the remote to rewind the match-making list. Tinder Plus is a paid version of the standard Tinder and comes with extra features like an undo button and a passport options that let's Tinder users search other Tinder users outside of their current region.

Originally launched in 2012, Tinder has grown immense popularity due to the ease of match-making through simple swiping on the smartphone. After numerous updates, Tinder now offers Instagram integration to allow users to see other users' Instagram profile and find common friends in Facebook.According to Tinder's website, tinder gets an average of 1.4b billion swipes per day with an average of 26 million confirmed matches. Tinder works in 196 countries, and so far has made over 10 billion total matches.

In the span of four years, Tinder has grown into a successful company and acquired small companies like Tappy and Humin to help expand their network. Tinder has also invested in Hey! VINA, an online community for women to get together. Tinder is looking to grow the company even more through investment opportunities and development of new businesses focused on the dating and other social spaces.
