‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ Release Date & News: PlayStation Launches Game In UK 2 Days Earlier Than Scheduled?

PlayStation UK surprised fans with a very unexpected announcement. "Horizon: Zero Dawn" will be released earlier than expected. It was originally scheduled for a March 3, 2017, launch but moved up to 2 days.

In an official Twitter post, PlayStation UK gave an early present to UK fans of "Horizon: Zero Dawn" by announcing its early release. For most game releases, UK usually is able to play the games a couple of days after US releases. As customary, games are released in the US around Tuesdays, while Fridays are for the UK. PlayStation UK's announcement just broke the norm.

According to GameRant, Sony has not explained why there was a change in release date. However, fans wouldn't bother complaining since fans of the much-anticipated open-world adventure game "Horizon: Zero Dawn" can finally get to play. Meanwhile, the previously announced Feb. 28, 2017, North American release still stands and no news whether it will also be move up much like its UK counterpart.

"Horizon: Zero Dawn" was originally developed by Guerrilla Games, the creative minds behind the "Killzone" franchise. GameSpot reported that this will make use of the PS4 Pro's increased power, being one of the first-party Sony titles to have ventured in such feat. "Horizon: Zero Dawn" on PS4 Pro will allow the player to see improved graphics details and enhanced colors, higher-quality anisotropic filtering, and improved shadow maps.

Despite all the improvements and upgrades, "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was supposed to be launched late 2016. So, this news does come as a breath of fresh air for fans who have eagerly waited for the post-apocalyptic action adventure game.

In other news, the same engine used for the "Killzone" series and "Horizon: Zero Dawn," Guerrilla's Decima engine, will also be used for "Death Stranding." This is because Kojima Productions is collaborating with Guerrilla Games, as confirmed during the PlayStation Experience 2016.
