Niantic Adds Santa Hat Pikachu In ‘Pokemon Go’ And Players Need To Catch ‘Em All

Santa hat Pikachu was recently added by Niantic in "Pokemon Go's" roster. Catching this electric based monster in a Santa hat could be a challenging task.

Santa hat Pikachu will be available from December 12 'until December 29, 2016, and is said to have a much higher spawn rate than the regular Pikachu. Finding Santa Hat Pikachu is going to be easy. The catching part is the challenge. A player who manages to catch a Santa hat Pikachu will be rewarded with XP and Pikachu Candy so it is advised to catch as much Santa Hat Pikachu as possible.

Catching a Santa Hat Pikachu is not as easy as it sounds, players are advised to stock up on berries, great balls, and ultra balls before attempting to catch it. Otherwise, Santa hat Pikachu will run away and players will need to initiate another search from the beginning, according to GameRant. Feeding Santa hat Pikachu with berries lowers the risk of running away, making the capture easier, it is advised to use the most powerful Pokeballs when trying to catch it. Trick Shots also helps in raising the success rate of the capture.

Santa hat Pikachu will be a great help for players who are having a hard time finding a Raichu in the wild or hatching one from an egg since Santa hat Pikachu will help them complete the Pokedex. It was also mentioned that with the upcoming second generation Pokemon on the way in the coming months, catching a lot of Santa hat Pikachu will go a long way in catching all of the new Pokemon.

Niantic seems to be in a lot of work providing different ways to keep the players engaged in "Pokemon GO" after all those months of dormancy. Only time will tell if Niantic's current and upcoming updates are not too late in keeping the number of "Pokemon GO" players stable.
