Promoting Wellness In Workplace

The officials of Weld County are promoting wellness for employees who sit in for long hours during cold winter days. An old garage in 1111 H. St. became people's weekly-visit place to aim to burn 2000 calories per week.

According to an article released by The Tribune, the Weld County's wellness project seeks to engage employees, who sit in for a long time, to be 'whole picture' healthy. Wellness Coordinator Kelly Leffler stated "We also look at mental health, nutrition, financial wellness,"

It not just focuses on the physical wellness, but the said program also promotes nutrition and mental wellness. "We look at the whole wellness picture. You're going to work harder and better if you're happy. It lowers costs across the board."

Participants could also be part of the wellness project on lunchtime Tuesdays by taking the site in yoga classes, joining the County's 5k and use the county's portal wellness port to track down exercises.

The payment of the Participants is helpful for the sponsorship of the Programming to continue. County leaders invested in health program about ten years ago and now not just help the wellness of the employees but also of the state's pocketbook.

Human Resources Director Patti Russell ensures that the money is used wisely because it's the taxpayer's money. The program started four years ago after the officials realized that the old garage for trucks and old equipment is empty when workers are out.

It had taken a couple of years before the state adopted. And now became a hobbit of the employees to visit the center weekly. The program decreased the higher risk rate of the employees to skip work and lower the costs of health insurance. And also cut down the training cost as many participants have joined the said fitness program.

Fun and exciting activities are set that is why members enjoy themselves and less likely to quit the program. Russel said that after the fitness center became a hit, Weld County hasn't seen a premium increase in years.
