Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick Divorce: Couple's Son in Therapy? Parents Split Did 'Enough Damage' To Mason

The road to separation is always rough on the kids. It's even tougher when you're a child of a celebrity.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's five-year-old son, Mason, is reportedly having a hard time coping with his parents' relationship falling apart. According to OK! Magazine, Mason has been seeing a therapist, on his mother's initiative, to help him understand what is going on and enable him to express himself.

"Mason is very close to his dad and keeps asking why he isn't living with them anymore," said a source to the magazine. "He was an only child for two years, and Scott was around a lot more for him."

"Scott has done enough damage," the source went on to say.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, to appease Mason, who is old enough to notice that his father is not at home with them, Kourtney sometimes facilitates a video chat with the father and son.

In July, the couple briefly had time together with the kids since their split, as per People. "Kourtney and Scott acted cordial. They were mostly focused on the kids. Scott looked very happy to see the kids," said one witness.

A day before that family meet, Scott had a one-on-one time with Mason, and they spent the day shopping for toys, according to TMZ.

Kourtney and Scott had been together for nine years before the reality TV mom decided to finally break free from her partner, following reports that he was partying with an ex-girlfriend during the summer break. Us Weekly reports that the eldest of the Kardashian sisters is seeking a top Hollywood attorney to represent her.

The news outlet also reported that there are no custody arrangements with the kids for now, but Kourtney plans to take sole custody of her children. She and Scott have never married, but they have three children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3 and Reign, seven months.

Over the years, Scott's penchant for partying has been one of the problems in his relationship with Kourtney. Even as the couple has now separated, he still continues to party, according to another story from Us Weekly.

Speaking with her lawyers, Kourtney reportedly plans to take everything, leaving Scott with nothing. "This is exactly why she never married him. She knew in the back of her mind that this situation was inevitable and that if she married him he would try to take her for everything," a source told Radar Onliner
