'Cars 3' News And Updates: Third Installment's Cast Revealed, Sneak Peek To Be Shown At North American International Auto Show In Detroit

"Cars 3" will be out on June 2017 and the cast for the third installment has been revealed. It was also announced recently that a sneak peek of "Cars 3" will be shown during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this coming January.

"Cars 3" recently released its trailer and it seemed like it would be gearing towards a much darker tone. As per the trailer, which lasted for less than 50 seconds, Lightning McQueen tried to go past through the other cars as he was in another race. However, the much-loved character flew into the air and seemingly it will be his downfall since the words "From this moment everything will change" flashed before the trailer ended.

It remains unclear what will happen to Lightning McQueen but until then, the characters that might be seen in "Cars 3" have been revealed. Movie Pilot reported that Owen Wilson will remain as the voice of Lightning McQueen. According to reports, "Cars 3" will be a different story because Lightning McQueen will have to regain his confidence after a bad crash. In the past two installments, the main character was more of a cocky star and had a lot of confidence in his self.

Sally Carrera will still be voiced by Bonnie Hunt. She and Lightning McQueen were romantically linked on "Cars 2." Sally Carrera was a lawyer in Los Angeles but decided she did not want that life so she went to Radiator Springs to rebuild the town. Mater will also be seen on "Cars 3" and will be voiced by Larry The Cable Guy. Ramone will also be part of the third installment of the franchise and will be voiced by Cheech Marin.

The new characters to be seen in "Cars 3" are Cruz Ramirez, who is said to help Lightning McQueen get back into racing, and Jackson Storm, a new baddie. The stars who will voice these two new characters are yet to be revealed.

As for the new sneak peek for "Cars 3" at the North American International Auto Show this January, Wheels reported that Pixar Animation Studios will be hosting a press conference on January 8, 2017. It is expected that millions of media men and women as well as audiences will be attending the event.

"Cars 3" will be hitting cinemas on June 16, 2017. Would you watch the latest installment? Let us know what you think below!
