‘Eyewitness’ Season 2 News: New Season Cancelled Or Renewed? [DETAIL HERE]

It seems that fans of "Eyewitness" will have to wait for a few more weeks to know if their beloved series will get a go signal for season 2. The studio has made an announcement regarding their schedule. In addition, here is some basis why the series is believed to get its renewal for season 2.

One basis for the renewal of "Eyewitness" is the statement released by creator Adi Hasak. In a previous interview with Deadline, the creator said that "Eyewitness" was designed to be an anthology series, with a notion that the series will have a reboot every year to feature a different story and roster of characters. Hasak said that "Eyewitness" was "sold as an anthology." This means that the "Eyewitness" anthology series will feature new mysteries.

The ratings for "Eyewitness" did not fare well for season 1 which led to speculations that the series will be canceled soon. However, Bustle noted that another series from the USA, "Playing House" also had the same ratings but was eventually renewed for another season. This could be one basis that "Eyewitness" might possibly have a chance to be renewed too.

With regard to the plot, the upcoming season 2 of "Eyewitness" is expected to feature Hurricane Katrina. However, since there has been no official trailer nor footage about season 2, the publication also noted that a year has already passed since the trailer for "The People v. O.J. Simpson" has come out.

As for the latest update, Adi TV Studios, one of the production companies working behind "Eyewitness," has made an announcement giving an update on what could possibly happen to the series. The studio posted on its official Twitter account an update saying there will be no official decision regarding the series renewal until the end of January 2017.

What are your thoughts about the series' fate? Do you think "Eyewitness" will be renewed or canceled? Why or why not?
