'King of Fighters XIV' Trailer Presenting New Update Featuring Great Visual On Its Characters And Background

SNK just dropped a trailer to show its newest update for "King of Fighters XIV" featuring great visuals for the game as well as extra freebies to celebrate the holidays.

The trailer features an Athena costume that was based on "King of Fighters" in 1998. It is free to download now because it is given as their holiday promo, but it will become a paid DLC after that.

On the other hand, the much awaited update for "King of Fighters XIV" is the new patch for the game. Gamespot has reviewed some of the changes of the v1.10 patch from the previous one. Some of the improvements stated are on the graphics, especially on the character cosmetics. The color variation for each character has been increased.

Kotaku noted that changes were also made to the shading and textures were given a higher resolution. There are subtle changes made to the character and their faces are now more distinguished from its original mannequin-like face.

Not only that, new colors for the character's costume are also available. The colors vary from white, red, yellow, orange, blue, green, violet and pink.

"King of Fighters XIV" is the latest installment of the fighting game series "King of Fighters" and unlike its predecessors, the characters that players can use is in 3D while the background takes place in a 2D plane. One feature of "King of Fighters XIV" is team vs team mode, where 3 one-on-one battles can be played. When one character is defeated, the game resets and the next character will be brought into battle and face the opponent's character.

New modes were also featured including Max Mode, Super, Advanced or Climax Cancels and Rush. The combo fighting system has also been improved. "King of Fighters XIV" provided a Trial mode where the player can test different kinds of combos their character can perform. Meanwhile, the new and improved visuals for "King of Fighters XIV" will be available on January 2017 as a free update.
