'Fast and Furious 8' Trailer & Spoilers: Film Delayed Due to Vin Diesel? Cody Walker Set to Return [Rumors]

"Fast and Furious" fans who are waiting for the film's eight installment may have to wait a little bit longer following speculations that its release date might be delayed. The rumors spring from Vin Diesel's post announcing that he will be filming the threequel of "XXX."

According to Deadline, the "XXX" franchise has been dormant for a decade, following its original film, which was released in 2002m and its sequel "XXX: State Of The Union" released in 2005. Diesel is set to return in the said movie. He announced the news via Instagram.

He posted a photo of him sitting, captioned: "While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel... The time to return has come. Filming starts December in the Philippines.#ILiveForThisShit"

The report suggests that "XXX" had domestic earnings of $142 million but no cast or director is set for "XXX3" yet. Rob Cohen helmed the first film, while Lee Tamahori directed the sequel.

Ludacris confirmed earlier to Access Hollywood during the Teen Choice Awards that the film is slated for a 2017 release. "'Furious 8' is happening, we start shooting next year and it comes out April of 2017," he said. According to The BitBag, the production has not confirmed nor denied the rumors, as no official announcement about the upcoming movie is released yet.

On the other hand, a forum in IMDb suggested to bring Paul Walker's brother, Cody Walker, back in "Furious 8." Fans were discussing how Cody could fit in for a possible role in the said movie. There were suggestions to bring Cody as Brian O'Connor's brother or maybe his son along with Paul's daughter, Meadow. In this case, Cody and Meadow will be playing as siblings.

Aside from Cody, there were reports about the "Orange is the New Black" star Ruby Rose joining the film. According to MoviePilot, Rose talked with Today Show in Australia and revealed that she is in talks with the "Furious 8" production for a role in its eight installment.

In an earlier report from Parent Herald, Rose admitted that she auditioned for "Fast and Furious 7" but she was turned down due to her resemblance with singer Justin Bieber. "It's so funny because now I'm in talks with that movie and I haven't mentioned to them that I know [they turned me down because I looked like Justin]," Rose said.

"Fast and Furious 8" will hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
