‘Mario Cart 64’ Coming To North America Wii-U Today But Will Not Support Ghost Data

'Mario Cart 64' will come to Wii-U today. The classic racing game was previously available in the European market only since January this year.

Fans may be wondering why the game was never ported into the U.S. market. The Nintendo game will be available for $9.99 through the North American Wii U Virtual Console. The 'Mario Cart 64' Wii-U version was launched in the European market last January 18, 2016, with a price tag £8.99 with no news of a South American release, There is only one flaw in this version, which is the lack of Ghost Data support, according to Siliconera.

Mario Cart 64 is the successor to the SNES game called "Super Mario Cart," which was launched on December 14, 1996, in Japan, February 10, 1997, in North America, and June 24, 1997, in Europe. "Mario Cart 64" came with four game modes comprised of Grand Prix which is a four consecutive three lap race that can accommodate up to two players, Time Trial which is single player mode wherein the player needs to complete a three lap race in a selected course at the shortest time possible. Versus Mode I also available together with the Battle Mode. "Mario Cart 64" is equipped with 16 race courses and 4 battle modes.

"Mario Cart 64" features a total of eight playable characters which includes Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach and Toad. The racing game also features one of the best multiplayer gaming on the Nintendo 64 entertainment system, based on IGN's review.

"Mario Cart 64" has been positively received by the gaming community gaining positive reviews from some of the most credible critics in the gaming world. The recent release of the game for the Wii-U is great news for all the Mario fanatics after all those months of delay, as far as Nintendo gamers are concerned, the North American release of "Mario Cart 64" is better late than never, even though it lacks Ghost Data support.
