'The Batman' Movie No Longer Happening? Ben Affleck Says He Has No Script, Will Not Do Movie If It Doesn't Come Together

"The Batman" movie reboot was given the green light recently but actor Ben Affleck said that he has no script of the movie yet. He also said that if the movie does not come together, he will no longer do it.

"The Batman" reboot is one of the most anticipated flicks for 2018 but it seems that the fans of the franchise will no longer take on the much-loved show. Affleck said in the past that "The Batman" movie will be starting with the production by 2017 and 2018 is the target date that it will hit the theaters. However, when asked recently about the development of the movie, he said that he is set to direct and star in the flick but there has been no significant progress, Comic Book reported.

Affleck added, "It's not a set thing and there's no script. If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great I'm not going to do it." It is unclear why there is no script yet and why there has been no progress regarding the matter. He did say earlier in December that he does not want to be tied to a bad Batman movie noting that he is not going to write and direct anything that he does not think it is good enough to be made.

Aside from that, Affleck said in his December interview that he will try to make something special regarding "The Batman" movie because there is not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of the movie that is worth it. The father-of-tree also said that he does not believe a film should be rushed just so it could meet its release date.

Movie Web also reported that Affleck is currently promoting his "Live By Night" flick and that reports claim he was chosen to do "The Batman" reboot movie because of his performance in "Batman v Superman." Warner Bros. is said to have received a script for "The Batman" but they are not happy about the script as it is a mess. This has not been confirmed by the studio yet.

If "The Batman" movie would push through, Affleck said in the past that it would be based on the original story. There will also be a lot of familiar characters from the original movie.
