EP Dan Goor Discussed ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’ Season 4 Finale Cliffhanger Where Gina Was Hit By A Bus!

bus "Brooklyn Nine Nine" season 4 finale featured an explosive cliffhanger on New Year's Day. Fans have witnessed the unexpected scene where Gina Linetti (played by Chelsea Peretti) was suddenly hit by a bus and season 4 ended leaving the fans speculating if Gina has met her demise or will survive the accident. Check out below how executive producer Dan Goor talked about this surprising cliffhanger in various interviews.

Towards the end of season 4 finale, the loud administrator Gina Linetti walked into the street. Then she checked her phone upon hearing the incoming text alert. Upon reading a text from Charles (played by Joe Lo Truglio), she looked back at him and gave him a thumbs up, and suddenly she was hit by a speedy bus and she was kicked out of the screen.

Fans can recall that prior to the accident, Gina seems to have premonitions about her bus collision. Gina told Charles "You know, honestly, I'd rather get hit by a bus than getting one more text from you." Eventually, Gina's joke turned out into a fatal reality.

Dan Goor shared with Entertainment Weekly, they originally thought of writing a joke for Gina where she would tell Charles that she would rather be hit by a bus than to receive one more text from the latter. Afterward, the executive producer decided that they will indeed proceed with the joke and make it into a cliffhanger ending.

In another interview, Dan Goor told The Hollywood Reporter that they find the idea of Gina getting hit by a bus to be really funny and shocking. The executive producer also mentioned that this scenario could also pose to prove who could possibly overpower each other, will Gina defeat the bus or not?

When asked if Gina is already dead, the executive producer teased that fans will need to watch and find out for themselves. Dan Goor also responded with another question asking if the bus survives the collision with Gina, which seems to hint that the executive producer is refocusing the fans to Gina's effect on the bus and not the other way around.

Furthermore, Dan Goor seems to emphasize about the powers of Gina. The EP also pointed out that for a character who possesses cosmic power like Gina Linetti, one must watch out his words.

"Brooklyn" has not been confirmed for season 5 but the show seems to have already teased its return in spring. The show took to its official Twitter account a tweet which included "We'll see you in the spring for more #Brooklyn99" which hints that the series will return in a few months.
