Square Enix Is Developing 'Dragon Quest 11' For PS4 And Nintendo 3DS At The Same Time

The strategy used by Square Enix in "Dragon Quest 11" is said to be fascinating because it will bring the game to PS4 and Nintendo 3DS. Essentially, the game is being developed twice at the same time given the huge difference of the platforms.

PS4 and Nintendo 3DS where "Dragon Quest 11" will be available have their own unique strengths, but the game is being developed for the two platforms at the same time. The game will be entirely different but it will share the same characters, name, premise and story.

According to Siliconera, the music of the upcoming game has been revealed by its composer Koichi Sugiyama. Since the version will be different in PS4 and Nintendo 3DS, the arrangement of the music will be uniquely made although the music is just the same for both. Koichi Sugiyama further noted that all the pieces in "Dragon Quest 11" are newly written.

It was also revealed that the time required for him to finish the soundtrack of the game is only a week. But, the main theme was finished in about five minutes. Koichi Sugiyama said that even if there is a strict time constraints, he knows that he can do it within the specified time.

Despite the differences revealed in both platforms, Koichi Sugiyama did not comment about the Nintendo Switch version according to Gamingbolt. It was not confirmed if the version in Nintendo Switch will use the ones from Nintendo 3DS or PS4 or it will have its own unique arrangement.

Meanwhile, footage from the 3DS version of the game was revealed during an NHK program showing the main character is being followed by party members as they are moving in all parts of the world and such features are mainly absent in PS4 version.

"Dragon Quest 11" will be released in Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS and PS4 sometime this year in Japan, but there is no confirmation as to when it will be released in the west. Stay tuned for more news and updates about your favorite game.
