Blizzard Is Nerfing ‘Overwatch’ Roadhog’s Hook

Blizzard has been busy dishing out updates in one of its strongest title. With only hours after the launch of the Oasis map for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and the ongoing "Diablo" anniversary, Blizzard is planning on releasing another update for "Overwatch" tank hero Roadhog and his hook, which everyone loves to hate and hates to love.

Every player has had trouble with that seemingly strong hook of Roadhog. Some of the players were even complaining of being hooked despite being out of Roadhog's line of sight, hiding behind a wall. The next thing you know, you're already hooked and dead. To remedy this, "Overwatch" principal designer Geoff Goodman is finally nerfing the way the hook works.

Geoff Goodman announced in Blizzard's forum that details of the soon-to-be nerfed "Hook 2.0" will be released on PTR sometime this week. This means that our plump masked hero's offense will be a tad bit weaker.

"The hook victim will now move into the position directly in front of Roadhog, rather than just a straight line towards him," explains Goodman. Roadhog's victims will have to remain within his line of sight for the hook to work and the victims will be pulled directly in front of him.

The second nerf update for Roadhog's hook is that checking the line of sight and whether the hook will connect with the victim or not is now from Roadhog's position, unlike the way it used to, the hook's position. If Roadhog can't see the victim, then the hook can't connect.

Third is that once the hook landed on the target or victim, a persistent line-of-sight check back to Roadhog will cut the hook and return it to Roadhog if by chance the victim or target drops out of sight midway by dashing, falling, etc.

According to GameSpot, the changes to Roadhog's hook will go live to PC PTR "very soon." Goodman also noted that Sombra might receive a bit of boost in the near future. Well, Kaplan did promise late last year that "Overwatch" will get a lot of updates.
