Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' Premiere Date, Teaser: Netflix Announces Show's Debut On Nov. 20; Get To Know Newest Superhero [Video]

Marvel's "Jessica Jones" is finally coming to Netflix. The streaming site announced it will release the first full season on Nov. 20 at 12:01 a.m. PST in all territories, according to the press release via Zap2it.

The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and will also feature David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, with Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Travel.

"Jessica Jones" will run with 13 episodes with Melissa Rosenberg as its showrunner, according to E! Online. "There will be flights in every episode and they'll get bigger and bigger and bigger but that's not my priority. That's not the nature of the story. This show is more character driven than anything like a scene in that universe," Rosenberg told the news outlet on what fans can expect from the show.

Jessica Jones stared off as an individual without any super powers. She acquired this following a freak accident that killed her family. In Jessica's world, she's schoolmates with Spider-Man and the Sandman in high school, although it's not yet confirmed whether these other Marvel characters will be in the show.

As Jessica tries her hand at cleaning the streets of New York from criminals in the series, she will be clashing with Dr. Kilgrave, the main villain. The series is categorized as a psychological thriller that is part of Netflix's Defender series, along with "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist," according to Time Magazine. The other two shows will still be making its debut on the streaming site at a later date.

Meanwhile, titles for the episodes of "Jessica Jones" leaked last August suggesting possible superhero team ups, according to Screen Rant. The news outlet also said that the source of the leak apparently came from a fan from the discussion site, Reddit, thus its accuracy may not be 100 percent true.
