Nurturing Styles of Kate Middleton and Late Princess Diana

Kate Middleton has always been fodder for media speculations, just as much as her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. So comparisons are also inevitable. Right from their dressing styles to maternity dresses to now the impending motherhood and nurturing styles.

The experts predict that Kate will follow her mother-in-law's footsteps in nurturing her child. According to ABC News, Diana is reported to be the first woman in the royal family to breastfeed. "Of course, that's hard for us to know for certain, but Queen Victoria was adamant that she found breastfeeding disgusting. She thought babies were ugly, and she didn't really enjoy any part of being pregnant, yet she had nine children," said ABC News royal correspondent, Victoria Arbiter.

All Diana wanted was to provide her children a normal childhood. Diana's former butler Paul Burrell said he believed that William and Kate will follow Diana when it comes to raising their children. "Don't expect this couple to follow every aspect of royal tradition," he told Life & Style magazine. Diana did everything possible to give them a normal, down-to-earth childhood - but had to fight their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, every step of the way," he said. He also said mentioned that Diana's parenting techniques has paved way for Kate and William in bringing up their children.

According to Judy Wade, a royal contributor to Hello! magazine, children were on the priority list for Princess Diana. "Sources within Kensington Palace would say to me, 'Every morning the boys would run in their pajamas into her bedroom, and she'd have her arms open wide to hug them.'"

With this, Kate can safely follow what Diana did for raising children. Diana also broke the royal tradition of touring for months without kids by taking the 9-month-old William on a visit to Australia.

According to the latest reports by The Telegraph, Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly due between July 24 and August 23.
