"Outlander" Season 2 has finally found its Brianna Randall in the person of newcomer Sophie Skelton, EW reported. Skelton is reportedly born in Woodford, Cheshire and has appeared in several shows like "Doctors," "Waterloo Road," "Casualty" and "Ren."

While this has been one of the most highly anticipated casting news for "Outlander" Season 2, many fans expressed their disappointment over Starz's choice of actress. In the comments section of the aforementioned article, several fans debated over Skelton's casting on the series.

"Exactly! Sorry she is too short, wrong eye color, I'm sure they will dye her hair. But what I find is that they lose those little details of the books..." said a user named GreenWheel.

"Wrong eyes, wrong height. That terrible casting fail is going to ruin the show. I'm extremely disappointed," commented a user named Rose332.

Other "Outlander" fans, on the other hand, defended the network's decision and said that the physical attributes of Skelton do not matter, and instead, it all lies in the portrayal of the role.

Meanwhile, E! News has reported on executive producer Ron Moore's earlier statement on choosing Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter.

"There's no one particular thing that you're looking for in any of these roles, except that when they get on camera, they kind of become that character and they lose themselves in the role," he said.
