Mommy To The Rescue: Mom Fights Back Internet Bullies Over Son's Meme on Facebook

A very disappointed mom fights back as mean netizens make an awful meme about her son with Pfeiffer syndrome. It is a rare genetic disorder that affects the bone growth of the skull, hands and feet.

ABC News reported that AliceAnn Meyer, 35, of San Antonio, was surprised when she saw a meme on Facebook with her son, Jameson's picture on it.

She immediately reported the incident to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The sites removed the pictures 24 hours after Meyer reported. She claims that the picture was taken from one of her blog posts. Jameson is a 4-year-old boy that has a condition called Pfeiffer syndrome, also known as the craniofacial syndrome.

According to webmd.com, Pfeiffer syndrome is characterized by the premature joining of skull bones, and also affects the thumb and great toes. There are three types of Pfeiffer syndrome identified by experts. The most common and less serious is the first type, which causes affected individual to have an abnormal looking midface, eye protrusion and hearing loss. This is what Jameson has.

His mom, AliceAnn said that he is as normal as a 4-year-old boy can be when it comes to most things. However, he is a little behind when it came to expression. She also said that she can't stop people from doing horrible things or saying mean comment about the way her son looks, but instead of looking at it negatively, she chose to use that as a platform to raise awareness about his son's condition.

AliceAnn wrote on her blog, Jameson's Journey, an entry entitled: "This Is My Son Jameson, And No, You May Not Use His Photo," which she hopes will make more people aware about Pfeiffer Syndrome and bullying. Meyer wrote, "To everyone that 'LOL'd,' shared, and posted that meme, let me start by introducing you to the child you find so funny. His name is Jameson. He is very real, and he was born with Pfeiffer syndrome."

Meyer also bravely shared that she supports Choose Kind, a web campaign who devote their time raising awareness against cyber bullying.
