Ryan Reynolds Explains Unusual Name Of His Daughter With Blake Lively; His ‘Deadpool’ Costume Makes His Daughter Cry

Ryan Reynolds explained his reasons why he named his daughter after his father. He also explains that his daughter with wife Blake Lively is terrified of his "Deadpool" costume.

"In the spectrum of weird celebrity baby names, I don't feel like we're breaking new ground here. I didn't call her Summer Squash Meadowlark," said Reynolds during an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain.  His comments come after host Kate Garraway said that the name James, which was named after his father who died due to Parkinson's disease in October 2015, is unusual for a girl, People reported.

The actor also joked that he considered making his daughter's name even more surprising especially considering many stars have chosen especially unique baby names. "I also thought of going with all the letters silent in her name, it'd just be pronounced [long breath out]," he said.

The star also talked about how his life changed for the better upon the birth of his first child. However, he didn't want to talk about being a parent like he is the only person in the world who has ever managed to conceive a child.

"I think they are fangs, actually, from what I can tell. They'll draw blood..." Reynolds said of his daughter teething. "It's the most common thing in the world but the most profound. It's super fun. I love it."

Meanwhile, Reynolds' latest film "Deadpool" is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Reynolds stars as the Super-Antihero in the movie.

Despite delighting fans from all over the world, his daughter James is not a fan of his "Deadpool" costume and did not approve of his superhero look. "My daughter would cry when she saw me in the scar makeup," Reynolds told Entertainment Tonight.

The star revealed that his wife Lively was blown away by how much the suit was faithful to the adaptation from comic book to screen. He continued to mention that it probably is the most faithful adaptation that's ever been done.

Reynolds and Lively met on the set of another superhero movie "Green Lantern" in 2011. The couple married in South Carolina in 2012.

In December 2014, the couple welcomed the birth of their first child just before the New Year. The "Gossip Girl" star gave birth to a healthy baby girl in New York.
