Ciara Suing Future For Criticizing Her Parenting Skills And For Making Damaging Comments

Ciara is suing her ex-fiancé, Future for libel and slander. The 'Love Sex Magic' singer is also seeking $15 million for the damages.

In an article released by New York Daily News, Ciara filed the lawsuit in Fulton County, Georgia, where she claimed Future, the father of her 20-month-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn, acted with "actual malice" when he described her as controlling and she's using their child for "publicity stunts."

According to the lawsuit obtained by the publication, Ciara claimed Future criticized her mothering skills during an interview and through Twitter after a picture of her and her son with her boyfriend Russell Wilson made headlines.

"She probably set him [Russell] up," Future said at that time during an interview with 'The Breakfast Club.' "You letting them catch that photo. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts."

Future also went on a Twitter rant against the Platinum-selling pop star. "This bitch got control problems," he wrote in January. "I gotta go through lawyers to see baby future ... the f--kery for 15k a month."

However, Ciara said in her lawsuit that the defendants claimed were never true -- citing that Future never gave 15k a month for child support. "But he made this statement deliberately to cast the plaintiff in a negative and disparaging light," the statement added.

Ciara also said to her statement she never prevented Future from seeing their son and he saw the child 19 times since December 2014. And some of those visits even lasted for a few days.

The singer also said she asked Future to delete his Jan. 4 tweets, but he declined to do so. "Defendant's false and defamatory statements were clearly published with actual malice," the lawsuit said, which was filed on Jan. 21.

Ciara and Future got engaged in 2013 but called it quits after their son was born in May 2014.
