Kim Kardashian West Talks About Public Breastfeeding

There have been so many talks about public breastfeeding and how others think of it as something to be ashamed of. Mothers all around the world have participated in campaigns launched by those who thing they have been wronged because they breastfed their child in public.

Celebrity moms take it upon themselves to address the issue by posting pictures of them breastfeeding their little ones on their social media. She posted an entry on her website entitled, "My Thoughts on Breastfeeding," Kim Kardashian West aired her take on the issue.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashian star shared her side of the story about the one thing most mommies have problems with, breastfeeding. Kim has given birth to her second child, Saint, two months ago and has been breastfeeding him since day one.

Fitpregnancy.com reported that she shared her experience on breastfeeding and some of the challenges she faced. She also gave her audience some helpful tips and shared her thoughts on breastfeeding in public.

In 2010, Kardashian-West tweeted her feelings about public breastfeeding and diaper changing, nanonews.org reported. As normal as it seems, her tweet was not taken very well by the twitterverse. However, a few years and two kids later, it may be safe to say that the star has softened up.

"I say, whatever makes you comfortable goes. I still personally wouldn't breastfeed at a restaurant with a bunch of people I didn't know staring at me," she wrote. "I've seen this before and remember tweeting how shocked I was. Now that I'm a mom, I'm not that shocked, especially if you have a few kids and can't leave to breastfeed one kid in the bathroom while leaving the others at the table. But I still personally wouldn't do it, unless it was an emergency situation and I was fully covered."

The star also shared that although people will never see her breastfeeding her little one, doing it in front of her girlfriends is totally an exception. She described it as a very natural experience and that she is never shy about doing it in front of them. Kim also said that she has never encountered any difficulty breastfeeding, and shared one helpful tip to other mommies.

She said she uses nipple shield when she breastfeeds because she noticed that her baby feeds better and it never irritates her nipples. "The hospital suggested shields to me, since at the beginning I found nursing super painful and difficult, so I took some home and never looked back," she advised.
