‘Steven Universe’ Season 2 Spoilers: Peridot and Lapis Lazuli Fusion Revealed in CN Leaked Promo?

"Steven Universe" Season 2 is still on a hiatus and Cartoon Network has yet to announce the animated series' return date on TV. A leaked promo from CN, however, seemingly hints on a possible fusion between Peridot and Lapis Lazuli. What happened to Malachite?

"Steven Universe" Season 2 leaked promo from CN showed Peridot offering a present to Lapis Lazuli. The five-second clip was enough to engage a lot of fans into deep conversations and come up with different speculations about the upcoming episode titled "Barn Mates."

According to Movie Pilot, fans were interested to know how Lapis was able to un-fuse from Jasper, as their fused version called Malachite was last found at the bottom of the ocean.

The publication, however, noted that the upcoming episodes of "Steven Universe" entitled "Super Watermelon Island" and "Gem Drill" may pave the way for the said un-fusion to take place. In "Gem Drill," the Crystal Gems may attempt to drill through the Earth's crust, which may ultimately lead to the resurfacing of Malachite.

While the reason for Lapis' return is already exciting enough to look forward to, a leaked photo also surfaced online, which seemingly hints on Lapis and Peridot's fusion. While the photo was not shown on the five-second promo from CN, many fans wondered if such a fusion will take place when "Steven Universe" Season 2 returns from its hiatus.

An earlier article from Movie Pilot also noted that "Steven Universe" storyboard artist Lauren Zuke has previously teased fans about Lapis' return via Twitter.

As most fans noted, the said rants mentioned something about "the bottom of the lake," which point out to Lapis and Jasper's fusion as the Malachite. Other fans also noted on the possibility that humans may be preparing their strike against the Crystal Gems, as Steven watches clips of old commercials.
