‘One-Of-A-Kind’ Product Immortalizes Pet’s Memory

A memorial product called "Pet Perennials" has been helping animal lovers to cope up with the pain of losing a pet. The said product will give the deceased pet a new life in a different way.

According to its official website, Pet Perennials is a "one-of-a-kind" memorial product that combines a small portion of the pet's ashes with flower seeds and nutrient-rich soil. The product, which is said to be eco-friendly, comes in seed wafers that can be used in creating a wildflower garden to honor a pet.

Pet Perennials can be purchased online in a kit or in a custom form. The company will make the seed wafers after the pet owner sends a small amount of the animal's ashes.

Remy Bibaud, cofounder and CEO of Pet Perennials, told CBS Local that the product was inspired by her pet Olive, a little white labrador, who died 2012. "At the end of the day I got back a box with her ashes in it and I thought what! Is this it for this beautiful life."

"It's an eco-friendly product and what it is is it creates life from the love and loss of a pet," co-founder and COO of Pet Perennials Lori Davidson added. "It teaches children that although the pet's not here in that form, you're still celebrating the life of the pet so the pet is here in a different form."

Sharon Gregory, one of the product users, confirmed that Pet Perennials is indeed helpful. She said she decided to purchase the product after her Japanese Chin named Morgan passed away last year.

"It gave me some comfort to know that even in my mind I know Morgan will always be with me and in my heart he'll never leave that spot," Gregory expressed. "I know he'll be growing and I'll be able to see him grow and I know he loved flowers."

Annette Heller, a pet grooming salon owner, said that the product has been helping her customers to mourn for the loss of their pets. "When I found this product, it was to me the perfect gift I could give them and could help heal from the loss of their dogs."
