Company Predicts Pineapple To Win On Oscar Sunday As Most Craved Food

GrubHub, one of the largest online food ordering companies in the United States, has predicted that pineapple could also be a winner on the Academy Awards night this Sunday. Their data showed that people have an odd craving for pineapple during the Oscars.

According to the Huffington Post, a recent data released by the Chicago-based company revealed that a lot of hungry Academy Awards-watchers were craving for food with pineapple ingredient. GrubHub made a data analysis related to food orders at 2015 Oscars night and found out that pineapple fried rice and Hawaiian pizza were the most popular dishes ordered during the awards ceremony.

A report of Chicago Business Journal stated that GrubHub's statistics showed that among women customers, pineapple fried rice orders spiked nationally by 36 percent on 2015 Oscars night compared to all orders on regular Sundays. On the other hand, Hawaiian pizza orders have increased by 36 percent among men and 38 percent in general.

Aside from pineapple, GrubHub's evaluation also found out that Cajun fries were 90.9 percent more likely to be ordered during the Oscars compared to other Sundays of the year. Other dishes orders that are expected to rise on Oscar Sunday include Wonton soup, garlic cheese bread, cashew chicken, vegetarian egg roll, pad see ew and Tandoori chicken.

While fans are expected to crave for pineapple on Oscar Sunday, the celebrities who will be attending the event will be treated with a variation of dishes at the official after-party. Wolfgang Puck, the celebrity chef who has been catering the Governors Ball for 22 years, recently revealed to the New York Post some of the dishes that he will be serving, including fish Veracruz, fresh king crabs, new vegan rice and smoked-salmon pizza.

The 66-year-old culinary spitfire said that despite the fact that many Hollywood celebrities are notorious for diets and dietary restrictions, they tend to forget it during the after party. "Everybody's so hungry after the show. I think a lot of people forget that they're vegetarians," he shared.
