‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Finds Caitriona Balfe ‘Steamy;’ Season 2 Filming Has Officially Ended

"Outlander" Season 2 is still months away from its return to the small screens, but that does not stop fans from excitedly anticipating for more teasers for the upcoming season. In recently released photos, Sam Heughan says he finds his co-star Caitriona Balfe "steamy."

"Outlander" stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe recently grazed the cover of Entertainment Weekly's new issue. In it, Balfe and Heughan shared some interesting details about themselves and their characters.

Heughan and Balfe both shot some racy photos for the publication and this made fans speculate even more about their relationship behind the cameras. While both "Outlander" Season 2 stars have denied to sharing anything more than friendship and professional relationship, Heughan teased Balfe on Twitter.

"Steamy, Balfe... @caitrionambalfe," Heughan wrote along with a couple of evil-faced emojis.

Heughan and Balfe's steamy and racy shots for the publication were part of their promotion for "Outlander" Season 2. In one of the steamy photos of both stars, Balfe admitted that such kinds of scenes are an "important part of the story."

"They don't feel gratuitous," she added.

Balfe and Heughan's great chemistry onscreen and behind the scenes fueled speculations that the two stars are in a romantic relationship. It has been rumored that Balfe and Heughan were caught flirting and holding hands even when the cameras were not rolling, but this remains nothing but a rumor.

Meanwhile, filming for "Outlander" Season 2 has already ended, Carter Matt reported. According to the publication, Heughan, Balfe and the rest of the cast and crew may finally take some rest before going on their promotional tour for the upcoming season of the Starz time traveler series.

Heughan and Balfe both expressed their gratitude to the rest of the cast and crew of "Outlander" Season 2 on Twitter.

"Big thank you to everyone who has worked on Season 2 @Outlander_Starz All crew, extras and behind the scenes. What a year! #LastDay," he wrote.

"Outlander" Season 2 premieres on Apr. 9 on Starz.
