Italian Designer Marta Ferri on Maternity Style and Living La Dolce Vita Style

One of the most popular topics hitting up Google right now is "Maternity Style." From Chrissy Teigen to Kate Middleton's pregnancy fashion, one can't help but think where these ideas come from. And the latest one to give pregnancy fashion inspiration is Marta Ferri whose Instagram post has been reaping thousands of like and earning the right to give fashion tips to soon-to-be mommas out there.

Ferri, a world famous fashion designer, posted a mirror shot of herself wearing a blush colored dress with yellow belt to highlight her baby bump. In a Vogue article, Ferri admittedly said that she has been working on some stuff at her charming Via Sant'Orsola studio where the first one to benefit from it is none other than herself first. Her swimwear line in collaboration with Yoox is set to be launched this spring.

Ferri described it as, "a matching [swimsuits] for mother and baby, and caftans for the beach!" Needless to say, she has already started preparing for her future mini-me.

According to trendstyle.com, Marta looked really put together juggling pregnancy, the chaotic Milan Fashion Week during the busiest season for weddings. Marta has only one thing to say about that, something that has always been known as an "unspoken beauty secret" every woman should expect when they are expecting "It's really simple. We just don't have so many rules," she says of abiding by a cultural philosophy that's less about what you can't do during pregnancy and more about "everything in moderation."

What she means to say is she eats what she wants, she exercises just enough, and whenever she's tired, she chooses to listen to her body than her mind. She also shared that in this pregnancy she's all about "living the balance" compared to her first pregnancy where she was always thinking about what she "should" do.

In the same Vogue article, Ferri gave some helpful tips to pregnancy- the Italian way:

  •  Massage is a must. It is very important for pregnant women to have a good circulation. Especially on the legs where circulation is not so good when you're pregnant. It will help your circulation, as well as give you the needed time to rest and relax.
  •  Almond oil will help with the stretch marks. One can't help but expect to have stretch marks during pregnancy. However, there will always be something that will help you fight it, and in this case, it is almond oil. You can mix it with some hydrating cream or alone. Apply it all over your body so you will always be hydrated.
  •  Blood circulation is important. Do not make pregnancy an excuse to be lazy. You have to be as active as you can be in order for your blood to circulate well. You don't have to do too much as long as you're constantly moving.
  •  Eat healthily. You have to always be mindful of the things you're eating, now that you're eating for two. You have to make sure that you eat something fresh and healthy. You can eat whatever you want as long as you do it in moderation.
