"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 has recently seen Damon's one-night stand with Bonnie. Fans were worried that this may ruin any possibilities for a "Delena" reunion between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. Executive producer Julie Plec, however, shared that this may not be the end for Damon and Elena.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 spoilers hint that Damon and Bonnie will encounter problems after their one-night stand, Australia Network News reported. Executive producer Julie Plec shared that Damon will make a terrible decision in the upcoming episodes, which will ultimately cause a rift between him and Bonnie.

This led to speculations that "TVD" Season 7 will show a romantic relationship between Bonnie and Damon aka "Bamon." However, Plec shared that she has no idea yet whether this would be possible in the future.

"I can't comment on future pairings because my mind changes a lot," she said.

As regards to Damon's one-night stand with Bonnie and how this might affect the former's relationship with Elena, Plec shared that Elena gave Damon a request for him "to live his life."

"In our mind, Elena gave permission to live his life to the fullest without her in it," she added.

This might disappoint several "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 fans, especially those who have been excitedly anticipating for Damon and Elena's reunion. Fans, however, should remain optimistic, as Design & Trend noted that Plec previously revealed that there is still a possible reunion between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder on the CW series.

"All I can say is that Damon is committed to being at Elena's side when she wakes up in however many years it takes, and he's going to do everything he can to make sure he still believes he's worthy of her," Plec stated.
