Kris Humphries Gets $749K For Selling Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring

Breaking up with Kim Kardashian got Kris Humphries a huge load of cash. He auctioned the diamond engagement ring that he had given her and filled up his pocket with a whopping $749,000!

The 20.5 carat sparkler was auctioned at Christie's in New York after the bidding opened for $200,000. The details of the buyer were not disclosed.

The stunning ring has a massive 16.2-karat emerald cut centre stone lined with 1.8-karat trapezoid diamonds. It totals up to 20.5 carat. It was valued at Christie's between $300,000 and $500,000.

The ring was initially listed simply 'Impressive Diamond Ring.' According to HollywoodLife, the buyer bid for $620K and would ultimately have to shell out $779K with commission and fees.

The 28-year-old NBA player decided to auction the ring after he got divorced from Kim. "Kris is not losing money on the ring," his lawyer Lee Hutton said, after the divorce.

"It was something that was a part of the divorce, the dissolution agreement," Hutton told the Daily News. "Kris is pleased with the outcome of the sale and the fact he can give a portion of the proceeds to a deserving charity. He's in the process of selecting the charity now."

"I'm not sure if the ring or its sale helps with the process of moving on. I think he moved on long before the ring was even put into the auction. Kris, being an athlete, is getting ready for an upcoming seasons and ready for life's lessons as they come along. This whole process was humbling but maturing."
