‘Sons of Anarchy’ Prequel Updates: Charlie Hunnam to Play a Different Role? Kurt Sutter Says Show Will Still Happen

"Sons of Anarchy" prequel is still going to be released on TV, says series creator Kurt Sutter. This confirmation comes in right after rumors claimed that the highly anticipated prequel to the FX series may no longer push through because of filming and casting problems. Will Charlie Hunnam play a different role?

Details about the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel are still scarce, as many fans are expecting to hear updates about the show during the cast's reunion during the Memorial Day weekend in May.

While several fans wondered if the "SoA" prequel will no longer push through because of the lack of updates and news about the show, series creator Kurt Sutter insisted that the show will still happen, Breathecast reported.

This may come as a good news for fans and viewers of "Sons of Anarchy," but the showrunner revealed that they are still far from finishing the script for the prequel. The publication noted that Sutter has recently finished his series, "The Bastard Executioner," which explains the delay in the prequel.

Add this to the fact the "SoA" prequel is still without cast members, as everything about the show remains a mystery. Rumors are rife that Brad Pitt will be playing the role of Jax's father, John Teller, after Charlie Hunnam previously shared this info in an earlier interview.

Hunnam may no longer reprise his role as Jax Teller in the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel, as the show will take place years before his character's birth. However, some fans remained hopeful that the 35-year-old actor will return the series and play a different role instead.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Hunnam shared that he has already moved on from his character in "SoA."

"It was a lot tears for, like, two or three weeks, every time I thought about it. Then one day, I woke up and was like, 'Okay, it's time to move on. RIP, Jax Teller,'" he said.
