‘Baywatch’ Break: Dwayne Johnson Pays Surprise Visit To Sick Kids

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson proved he is a tough guy with a kind heart after spending some time with sick kids while filming the big screen reboot of "Baywatch" on Saturday. The 43-year-old action movie superstar took a break from the shoot to surprise some young patients at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

According to USA Today, Johnson was in the location to shoot some few scenes for the upcoming R-rated beach patrol movie. During a break, he decided to pay a visit to the ward of some kids where he mingled with them and shared words of encouragement.

The Rock also posted two photos of the surprise visit on his Instagram account. In one photo, he is seen fist-bumping a little boy named Aiden.

"Look at the concentration on lil' Aiden's face!" Johnson said in the photo's caption. "And good Lord I wish I had Aiden's concentration when I was in my high school math classes. I wouldn't have failed Algebra twice."

The second photo showed the actor chatting with a teenage fan named Christopher. The actor shared that the teen was not in pediatric care because of his age.

"I got word from my team that there was a mom who was pleading with our production staff, that I go upstairs to her son's room to give him a much needed big surprise," the actor shared. "Right before I left, his mom looked at him and said, 'Christopher I can't give you anything, but I'm so happy I could give you this today...' and she started to breakdown... Made me think to give so much credit to these parents who would do anything to take their kid's pain away and ANYTHING to bring a smile to their faces."

New York Daily News reported that the Saturday hospital visit is only one of the kind-hearted gestures that The Rock showcased in the past weeks. Early this month, he invited a seven-year-old cancer patient named Gabriel "Tater" Singleton to visit the set of Baywatch.

Johnson will be starring as Mitch Buchannon in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the popular TV series, which ran from 1989 to 2001. He will be joined by Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Kelly Rohrbach.
